Functional perspective on fly fishing and tying
Fishing for many years, with the maximum dedication and trips to the water, I have often been in a situation where I find myself frustrated and disappointed. Especially on rivers with a large number of anglers and reduced fish stock. There were many days when I couldn't figure out for which kind of flies the fish is interested in. Personally, the worst thing for me was the fact that there were some parts in the river where another anglers were effortlessly catching the fish one by another, but I failed. Accepting the challenge, I have started to create my own flies collection which will be suitable for every condition at the river. Continuing the Bosnian tradition, unlike world school, the emphasis is placed on the color of the body and the effect of underwater fly such as transparency, shimmer, texture, etc. Besides the size, which can be decisive, the shape of the fly is a less important factor. This is also confirmed by the fact that some generic forms of flies (pheasant's tail, rabbit's ear, prince, etc.) can imitate various genera and stages in the development of insects, if the color and impact of fly under water is achieved. Through a detailed analysis, I concluded that most of the materials that would be used to achieve wanted look of fly, cannot be bought on sale. Any deviation in the shade of color leads to the refusal of the fish to take the presented fly. I made a large number of my own unique materials by mixing dubbing of various colors, textures and painting. If the material is transparent, I was taking into account the smallest details, such as the color of the basic thread, the color of the ribs, even the tail.
Highly efficient creations were created after numerous tests and improvements depending on the water conditions (water level, season, swarming of insects, etc.) Every fly is made on a specific model and hook size in order to experience the full effect of a successful fishing.
